Question:

I know positive credit info transfers to the joint holder but does the other persons negative transfer too?

basically trying to improve credit score,want mom to add me to credit card but cut them up so i don't have them. ONLY for her positive information to transfer and improve my score but would my negative stuff transfer to her.

  1. If you’re talking about being added to one of her cards as an authorized user, you’d get the exact credit history generated by that card. If she always pays on time, it’s good for you. If she misses a payment it’s bad for you.  But you are only getting history from this one card, not any others she has.

    FYI, some people might tell you credit piggybacking is going away when Fico 08 rolls out. This was the case, but Fair Isaac has decided not to eliminate the practice – although this has not been well publicized. You can Google for more information.


  2. it sounds like you really need help trying to fix up your credit score. this is what i did because i was in the same situation. what you do is go to http://abe5.com/70q and input your information and they help put you on a plan to increase your credit score for the future and try to see what they can do for you now. They helped me a ton!
