  1. You can only contract the HIV virus through the blood (or breast milk, or s***n or vaginal fluid), so if the person you know truly got it from the tattoo parlor, then the tattooist must have used the needle on someone who had the virus, didn't clean it, and then used it again on the person you know.

If it can be proven that this is what happened, it sounds like justified grounds for suing.

  2. Salons should either use disposable needles, or have good sterilisation. Obviously someone with aids had been tattooed, and the needles  were not cleaned properly.

Or, they had the tattoo, and afterwards mixed in someone else's bodily fluids into the wound by accident, and not realised.

  3. the needle someone shared the needle

  4. The needle wasn't properly washed and was contaminated with aids.

  5. obviously he didn't watch the tattoo artist open the neddles or the ink.  if he can prove thats where he got AIDs from the tattoo artist can loose his lisences and he could sue him.

  6. the ppl that did the tattoo used the same needle on somebody else.

yes needle sharing is a big way to get aids

  7. needles!!

someone had aids and they didnt sterelize the needles.

  8. Tattoo parlors are VERY careful about this it.  Here is a CDC link about the risks from Tattoos. If the place was careful, there is almost zero risk (I say almost because there are always the unknowns.) You should consider other possible sources such as blood products, or other risk behaviors.

    Good Luck.

  9. the tattoo artist used an infected needle (on that was used for another person that was infected). thats why you go to a tattoo parlor with clean, sterile needles

  10. You are breathtakingly misinformed.  Tattoos don't spread infectious diseases, dirty needles do.

  11. The needle must have not been cleaned well and steralized after they used it last ( but really, all needles should only be used once)

  12. the needle and blood mix it sound to me  the person doing  the tat was filthy and did not clean his tools or cared how he took care of them

  13. If the place did not appropriately clean the needles after giving a tatoo to an individual who had AIDS this could happen but it's not that common. The person could be telling you this because sometimes those who get AIDS will not be comfortable with the truth of how they got it which is a lot more common.

  14. not cleaning the needle after the person who was tattooed before him/her.

the blood was on the needle still and went into his/her blood.

  15. the person

    that did the tattoo

    did not clean or change

    the needle from a previous

    customer that had AIDS

  16. they probably are lying how they got it and if not the needle that was used was never cleaned from the previous user who probably had aids and if this person you know sued he could get alot of money

  17. The needle was not sterile..

I really hope you don't go to whoever did her tattoo!

You should also report the tattoo artist to the police.

  18. because the tatoo guy probably did a tatoo for a guy that had AIDS and probably cut him accidantly, now blood infection is on the needle.

Later your friend goes to have a tatoo, probably got cut accadently and the other guys blood mixed with your friends blood.

    There you go!!

That could be the only explanation.

Your friend is so innocent, he should sue him.

    It's so SAD.

  19. They use needles to do tattoos...

That is a way of contracting AIDS if the equipment was infected.

  20. The needle is dirty. Someone who used it earlier had aids.

  21. the needle was not cleaned. the needle that they injected to put the ink in their skin made contact with the aids infected blood, than transferred to the other person.

  22. the needle must have just been used on an aids infected person and it must have drew blood and not been cleaned when used on the other person

  23. why do you people

keep saying "they didn't use a clean needle"

or they "didn't clean the needle" the tattoo artist didn't

    use a NEW needle..I'm 15 and i know that...

makes me think it could happen to you guys

to since you obviously think all they have

to do is clean a needle and re-use it...

  24. They got it from the needle used for the tattoo. Obviously the needles were being reused, bad idea since tattoos are injected into the skin a few layers.

  25. They used an AIDS-infested needle from a previous customer. This is an illegal practice, obviously.

  26. It's not that a needle should be "properly" cleaned. Needles should ALWAYS be new. Regardless.

They simply used a dirty needle from a previous client who had AIDS. I would honestly kick the **** out of anyone who did that. I don't care if they were the most disgusting scratcher in the dirtiest house. A new needle should have been used.

Some states don't require that needles be new, but they be autoclaved. Either way, the tattooer broke the law. Even autoclaving a dirty needle is, in my opinion, ******* disgusting.

Find out who that a*****e was and do something about it.

PS: autoclaved old needles can become dull and cause damage, thus increase the risk of infection. Just before someone gets their panties in a twist about why I said autoclaving old needles is disgusting.

  27. The needle they used must have been contaminated by the previous person that got the tattoo.  Tattoo artists are supposed to use disposable needles and use the ink only once per person.

It is not very common at all.

Your friend may have contracted it some other way and is afraid to tell you.

  28. Unprotected s*x during a tattoo session is VERY dangerous.

  29. It happened because someone used a dirty needle, a needle that was used on the infected person and then used it on them. Sorry to hear they gor AIDS like that.

  30. The needle had been used before and had not been properly disinfected and sterilized.

  31. the needle that was used on them wasn't clean.

that needle had been previously used on someone who has aids [or hiv], and since the virus was not cleaned off, it was transferred to the person who got the tattoo with that same needle.

all piercers and tattoo artists are supposed to use a special machine to clean the needles
