Question:

I know that Alzheimer's is inherited. My dad has it & his dad had it. Since I am his daughter will get it?

  1. There is no straight answer to your question. There is a type of "early onset" Alzheimer's that is based on heredity. However, there isn't enough known about the disease to make a conclusive yes or no on anything.

    Also, there is no research that supports it tends more towards men. There are more cases of Alzheimer's in women than there are in men, but that doesn't mean women are more prone to Alzheimer's than men are. In general, the older you are, the more likely you are to get Alzheimer's. Women, on average, live longer than men. Therefore, more women have Alzheimer's than men.

    Alzheimer's is one of the cruelest ailments known to man. It effects more than the patient.

    My mother died of Alzheimer's.


  2. women are much less suseptable to genetic diseases. grls are genetically superior to men b/c they have that extra segment in the chromosomes.
