I know that house cats love milk, but does it give them diarrhea?

Cats don't have to have milk, I just know that they love it & enjoy it very much so I am going to buy lactose-free that they just told me that we can buy at the pet store & at the regular supermarket (I suspect.). :o)

iv been told that it isnt very good for them as it could cause problems but i give my cats milk an odd time for a treat but they dont have the poops after it, but yeah it isnt very good for them so dont give them it alot, its better to buy the propper cat milk out the shop in little bottle. much better!

my kitty can't have milk because she gets diarrhea.

she does anythinggg to get it though.

there is a special kind of milk you can get for cats if your cat has to have milk.

I have four indoor cats.  They all love milk, and three of them can drink it with no problems.  The other one, however, has never been able to tolerate it.  Just a small amount always gives him diahrrea.  I suspect some cats can take it, and some cant't.

Dogs and cats do not have the proper enzymes to properly break down the sugar in milk which is called 'lactose.' You may have heard of people who are lactose-intolerant. They are also missing these digestive enzymes. If the proper enzymes are not present, the lactose remains undigested and tends to ferment in the intestine and cause diarrhea. Some pets can tolerate a little milk, others, none at all. If your pet enjoys and appears to tolerate milk, you can give your pet small amounts. Better yet, give your pet one of the special cat or dog milks on the market that have had the lactose removed.

you can give them milk but not every single day they need cat food.
