If you see a girl walking around with an eye patch on for whatever reason she has it on, what would you find offensive about it? In Sunset Park, Brooklyn to be exact.

And I do not know what section this belongs to

  1. I don't live in Brooklyn. I'm in Los Angeles. I'm a 46 year old woman. I had to wear an eye patch for 3 years. As well as getting laser therapy, every 6 weeks, during those years. I suffered an occlusion of the main retinal vein in my right eye. I had to wear the eye patch, because even if I kept my eye closed... the light level entering that eye made it seem to me as if the sun was shining directly into my eye.

Unfortunately some thoughtless people found my eye patch to be a source of amusement. I was never one to brush off the comments. Normally, I'm a very easy-going person, and don't take myself too seriously at all. However, I suffered a major health crisis, with this. It has left me legally blind in my right eye. Whenever a stranger would make a rude comment that they found funny. I would not let it go. Normally a few choice, sarcstic words would shut them up, such as," You may find my blindness funny. But I certainly don't". Or "I hope you suffer the same fate someday".  I have actually resorted to violence on occasion, and kicked a few men "Where it hurts most", I have also slapped a few women and lectured more than a few parents about their kids.

Other reactions... I found that a lot of people are actually "turned-on" by the eye patch. More than a few men (and some women) would try and flirt with me. A lot of them were "Biker" types, "Goth" or odd nerd/geek types. I have also stood up to couple gangsters who chose to make a"cute comment". They knew that I was obviously not in a gang. But the fact that I wasn't afraid to insult them right back... They actually, told me they were sorry.

  2. i don't live in brooklyn but honestly nowadays gang identification can be done with anything so maybe so.

  3. Probably, hardly anyone does, gang identificatios are usually what someone wears, what he does, and other things like a handsign or handshake to a dance or anything!

  4. Get off the PC and read a goddamn book. What a question.
