  1. No they don't. When I went everyone was drinking and smoking weed right on the beach

  2. No they don't usually do. I would say have fun going out to these parties but don't over indulge in alcohol.  You are in a strange country and do not need to be inebriated with impaired judgment.  You will only be placing yourself in danger.  This rule of safety applies anywhere but extra caution is needed when  you travel.  Jamaica is relatively safe but being clear headed makes you safer.  When you go out don't leave with strangers and let your friends where you are and who you are with.

Exercise caution, be smart and have fun.

  3. Personally, I've never been asked for ID, and I've went out clubbing there since I was like 14.

  4. NO, as a general rule they do NOT check ids at Jamaican bars and pubs.

HOWEVER if your friends LOOK too young, they can get hassled trying to get into established nightclubs such as Quad, Margaritaville & Jungle. You may also have difficulty getting into major parties such as the A.T.I. party series in August, since these events usually have major corporate sponsors.

In any case the bigger clubs and events only ask for id when you look young enough to make them seem irresponsible for letting you in.

  5. When we went to Jamaica they never checked anybody, including the 16 and 17 year old family members who came along.

  6. No and if they do want an id give them a little money always work when i use to live in jamaica me and my cousins would go to clubs drink and smoke i was 10.
