is that also true for if you ovulate early? I'm a little confused about how long my cycle is? I started on july 14, and it tells me that I should start today 8.9.08 or 8.10.08 how long would my cycle be then? Thanks

  1. i find it all confusing too =/

  2. The basic cycle is 28 days.  A lot of women have shorter or longer cycles depending on the woman.  Your cycle begins with the first day of your period.  If you started your period on July 14 and were on a 28 day cycle then you would have ovulated at or around July 28 and your period would begin on August 12.

In order to see your exact cycle scedule you should keep a calendar and mark each day your period begins (the day it ends is irrelevant).  After three months you should have a pretty good idea of how many days are in your cycle.  Hope this helps.

  3. You're right if you ovulate early your period will be earlier too...

This is because your cycle length can change but not your "luteal phase" (often reffered to as the two week wait around here!) which is consisten in length at 12-16 days(it can change from woman to woman but will be pretty much the same for individuals from month to month-my luteal phase is always  between 13-15 days and so I usually have from 29-33 day cycles)

So if you have a 14 day LP and ovulate on day 14 you'll have a period on CD28...if you ovulate on CD13 you'll have a period on CD27 and if you ovulate on CD 20 you'lll have a period on CD 34...does that help? I know it's a little confusing!!! LOL

Good luck and babydust!  Feel free to contact me if you need more information

    EDIT: LP=luteal phase, CD=cycle day

  4. if you have only just started you period its not regular so it hardly ever comes every month. Some girls might miss 2 months an then start again an some girls are only on there period for 4 days others can be on for up to a week. hope this is what you mean an hoped i helped

  5. Calculate your last three menstrual cycles and get the average.  Your ovulation period should be around 10-14 days after the last day of period.  Then make love at least every other day on what you perceive should be your ovulation period.  A woman's egg usually waits for the sperm for at least 48 hours.  Cheer up, the Good Lord will grant your heart's desire of getting preggy soon!

  6. I ovulate late in my cycle (not the average 12-16 days that all the calenders say) I ovulate between days 19-22 and my period always came on time sometimes a day early or a day late, but thats normal.  So I dont think ovulating late results in a later period.  I'd take a test if I were you.
