  1. I have a track like five minutes from my house, its called Moto X Park East or Archers Lodge. Thats sounds exactly like it. Just keep jumping bigger and bigger jumps until your ready.

  2. the best advice I can give is learn your bike's capabilities in each gear, like what rpm in which gear you need to clear what distance.  The only way to really do that is to practice, doubles and triples aren't the place for that.  Landing into the flats isn't the end of the world so I'd suggest finding a launch and practicing to see how far you carry at what speeds, then when you get it dialed in pretty well, give it a shot.  Remember it's much better to go a little long than a little short though!  If you're at the track and you're pretty comfortable with your judgment on gear/rpm/distance, follow someone through the jump who does clear it like Auburn said

  3. Drink a lot of alcohol, that should build up some courage.

  4. Not a stupid question at all. The key to clearing a big jump out of a turn is obviously corner speed. Even though your bike is a bit faster than an 85, don't try this jump unless you are carrying as much corner speed as these guys are. The best way to safely build confidence is on table tops where it is hard to case the landing. Doing a big jump for the first time is nerve racking, just be sure you are ready before trying it. A 45 ft double ain't nothing to sneeze at so I'd say your are doing great.

  5. Wait till a practise day  when some of the guys you are racing against are on the track.  You can then follow them through the corner carrying the same speed and over the jump using their speed to gauge your own.
