Question:

I know this is early, but help would be appreciated. Does any one have any good ideas for home made Xmas gifts

I usually make my own and I like to get started about now. Last year I made Bath Salts, Cold Winter Night Hampers, Jewellery Boxes, Napkin Rings and Tree decorations.

I want to do something new this year but I'm stuff for ideas, does anyone have any? I'm not great at sewing/crocheting/knitting so those ideas are out. I would also prefer ideas where the materials can be bought for low prices (I only make my gifts as I have 44 people to buy for, and at minimum of £10 a gift we're talking £440)

  1. OH - please enjoy the day - we are still looking forward to SUMMER!

  2. For goodness sake, girl get a boyfriend or a life. You've just wrecked my evening

  3. NO NO NO DO NT MENTION THE C WORD YET ITS TOO EARLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. T-shirt silkscreen printing. You can start collecting designs as early as now. You can get designs from the internet or if you're artistic enough draw you own designs that will fit the personality of your recipient. Hope it helps. ;)

  5. Make your own Christmas cards.

I make Christmas cd's. I put Christmas songs on them and Christmas stories off the radio. I give them to friends and family.

  6. You say you want to do something a little different this year, then why not try cooking for everyone. Baking cookies and cakes.

The ingrediants are easily cheap and you can give more people the same type of food. That way you would be able to make a large batch of cookies for example - and then split them into several families as gifts.

Try thise site for great 'christmasy' recipies if you're interested in the idea: http://www.northpole.com/Kitchen/Cookboo...

  7. I think that your ideas are grand. They are all wonderfull.

  8. Photos are always a great way to go

Scour chairty shops for nice wooden frames. You can always sand them varnish them, , decorate them, make them special and add a special photo into it that reminds them of a good time, a nice one of their kids etc

If you cant find frames then you can always go to a salvage yard and pick up some scrap bits of timber and make your own, good luck :)

  9. I love Christmas and also start thinking about gifts this time of year.

Im knitting socks for everyone this year.  Im also making jewelry (necklace, bracelets, and earring sets).  Im making catnip mice for all my friends and family members who have cats.

  10. How about putting the dry ingredients together for something to bake or cook in a jar along with the recipe?

  11. I think that your ideas from last year were wonderful. I also try to spread my Christmas gift buying through out the entire year to avoid getting into a financial bind. I would love to know how you made the bath salts and other gifts.

I would give scented votives which are affordable and you can put then in a nice gift bag. The dollar store has some nice ones. Remember it's the thought that counts not the price. Also try Martha Stewart.com. Good luck with your search.

  12. Photos, but make your own frames =) Decorations? Baking (make them near christmas of course!) a scrapbook?

  13. How about jams, liqueur (lemoncello is a nice one!), christmas cake, biscuits, photoframes, or use you cold winter nights idea (which i love, i must point out!), and make variations to it like a pampering baskets with things in there like toileteries or chocolates.

And ignore all the people that say its too early to think about christmas! When you have as many people to get things for like you do its better to start early, that way you got time to make something nice instead of having to go out and waste lots of money on useless items...and probably get your self into debt in the process.

    Have fun!!
