Question:

I know this is not healthy but what can i try to do?

I don't have a disorder. I am a pluus size girl. I hardly have time to have meals. I just got my braces on last week. I never eat breakfast because it is early in the morning and i am never hungry. I skip lunch now because i have my braces on and it is very hard to eat with these braces on. When i get home about 3:15pm i will grab a snack. Then i will eat dinner about 5pm. And then i will have a snack before bed. What can i do to get on a healthy eating schedule and what are some good quick foods for on the go?

  1. Force yourself to eat liquid stuff, applesauce, soup, jmashed potatoes, etc. Look up recipes for protein shakes that you can drink for a healthy breakfast. You get used to them in like a few weeks.


  2. Try making yourself a porridge the night before.  Then cook some up in minutes in the morning.  Nice and easy to swallow past the metalwork and full of slow release nutrient.  Especially if you like it with egg in.  Even a tiny bowl is better than nothing.

    The rest of the day won't then matter so much.

    Lack of nutrient could even make your pain worse!  Ever noticed how much more a pain is before you eat?  Sometimes I'm not hungry but my wife makes me eat anyway.  Then I realise I was in too much pain to feel the hunger!

    If you like baking make yoyourselfome flapjacks with good natural ingredients.  Get it right and they can be very soft and moist enough to manipulate with your tongue.  

    Get it wrong now at your age and plus can become enorrrrrrmous ;]

  3. I had a very similar problem.

    First of all, after a few weeks it will get easier with the braces. Honest. You will be able to eat anything. I even had nuts, you just have to be careful.

    Second, have liquids for lunch while your teeth hurt, or if you, like me, are awkward eating in school with braces. You can have smoothies, or milk, or juice. Also try yogurt, applesauce, oatmeal out of a packet, or soups.

    To be healthy you have to eat more often that you do now. Truth is, you should be hungry in the morning, and you should have breakfast. Try to maybe skip that snack before bed, perhaps then you will get hungrier in the morning.

    And don't stress too much about braces - it really does get better, speaking form experience here. Hope this helps

  4. Thats a tuff one becuase nothing processed is a good for weight loss. No bars not drinks nothing. If you can stand eating raw fruits and mostly veggies than you cant eat on the go. If you cant than you need to pre plan your meals or make them the day before.
