I know this is subjective, but what is the most fulfilling type of volunteer work?

I've never been involved in anything like this, but I want to...just looking for some direction, I'm sure there are tons of possibilities...

Knowing that even if I never see this child again, they have seen the love of Christ in my life! I'm not being boastful- but it is amazing when the kids realize that they ARE special... that people DO care about them.

yeah it is subjective.. but between volunteering for animals and for people, i think the last one is more fulfilling.. but that's for me.. before volunteering, look at yourself first and try to identify your skills or the things you can offer.. let God use you.. he will equip you so you could do the things given to you..

I think the most rewarding type of volunteer work is the "hands on" approach, meaning the type of work where you go out and help, inspire, and teach others.  For example, working with abused children.  Being a mentor or a big brother or sister to someone and showing them their worth in the world.  Although financial help is just as good and appreciated by all organizations, really getting out in the field is more personally rewarding, at least to me.
