  1. You can conceive with a low sperm motility, but obviously the chances of conceiving are much lower.

Age, lifestyle, testicles overheating, substance abuse, smoking, malnutrition, obesity, cycling, genetic factors and radiation levels are all ways to cause low a low sperm count.

Anything over 20 million sperm per milliliter is considered normal.

There is little evidence to suggest that stress and depression can affect fertility, although obviously not being able to conceive can cause both stress and depression.

Weight can play a role in fertility, if you are both underweight and overweight.

Irregular periods will not stop you getting pregnant, although they can reduce your chances of knowing your ovulation time, therefore possibly making it harder to conceive if you are actively trying and charting.

Stress shouldn't affect your HPT results, as it's measured by the hormone HCG in your body.

  6. i duno

  7. I probably can't answer all these, but I will tell you what I know on these topics.

The chances of concieving with low sperm motility is a lot lower than with healthy sperm. Unfotunately as far as I know there is little that can be done for low sperm motility. If it is a low sperm count, this can be battled with changes in diet, wearing loose fitting boxer shorts, no hot baths or bike riding etc. As these can cause a low sperm count. Low sperm motility, I think is genetic in most cases.

Depression and stress can definitely play a role in fertility. I was told by my acupuncturist, and have heard/read many times that a stressed body will find it difficult to concieve. If you and your body are stressed, naturally, chances of concieving are hindered - if you cannot take care of yourself properly, then they chances of being about to care about a growing baby inside of you are very small - thus your body will prevent conception. I do think that this is in extreme cases of stress and depression, not minor stresses that everyone can be confronted with everyday. Stress and depression can cause anovulatory cycles - cycles in which you do not ovulate (which in turn can make you appear to be late for your period - thus why stress people sometimes find their period is delayed).

Yes, you can have a period without ovulating - these are called anovulatory cycles. Manay women think that they are ovulating because they get their period, unfortunately, having a period is not an indicator of ovulating (I know, I have experienced anovulatory cycles). This can be caused by many things such as stress, hormonal imbalances, or your body just not releasing an egg for the month. They are actually quite common, people just don't realise as their period still comes.

Weight does play a role in fertility, but less than what people think. It is recommended you have a body fat percentage between 20 - 27% if you want to concieve, or BMI between 20 - 25. My BMI is 18 and I concieved naturally. I have also read that if you are overweight, losing excess weight will only improve your chances of conceiving by 5 - 10%, however I guess this depends on how much extra weight was being carried and how much is lost. Estrogen is produced by fat cells, the more fat on your body the more estrogen you will have - many overweight people have high estrogen levels that can cause anovulation.

You should not have trouble concieving with irregular cycles if you are ovulating (I have irregular cycles and had no trouble once I changed my lifestyle and started ovulating properly). You should chart your temperatur each morning to pinpoint ovulation - I did this and just made sure I had regular s*x from about a week after my AF until I got a temp rise indicating ovulation. You can also use ovulation sticks to detect ovulation and watch for your cervical mucus to become watery then like egg-whites - as this indicates a fertile window. Spend a couple of cycles getting to know your body. I never really noticed egg-whites as such, but got very watery CM an only slight amounts of egg-whites (only detectable if collected from my cervix if I was lucky), I was able to pinpoint fertile time with knowing my body.

Stress will not affect the results of a home pregnancy test, home pregnancy tests detect if there is hormone HCG present in your system, which is only produced when pregnant - if you are pregnant, stress will not play a factor in this hormone production or presence.

    I really hope this helped!!

  8. 1) Low sperm count does make it hard - but it is possible, try deep penetrating positions...

2)foods, job (if he is a roof tilers or something that has alot of reflective sunlight that normally slows it down.. i asked my doc this since i was ttc for 9 years where i thought my partner had a low sperm count

3)ive heard that low sperm count could be caused by to much heat down stairs, wearing briefs not boxers, may sound silly but i think there is logic behind it.

    4)define normal...

5)depression can play a massive role, to the extent were it may stop you from having periods, its not good when ttc

6)stress is the less effects than depression

7)yes u can have a period without ovulating, this is generally cause by PCOS.

8)Weight does play a role - also another sign of PCOS

9)irregular periods make it very hard... as i said it took me 9 years - ask the doc for metformin, it will help with being insulin resistant, irregular periods  (as it sometimes kick starts them like it did mine) & weight probs

10)stree can not effect a test result, the test will look for the hormone in ur urine.

I would strongly reccomend asking you doctor about PCOS...
