My whole profile deleted and I lost all of my points? Anyone know why, how and did this happen to you too? It's not fair, I liked to give thumbs down to the skeptics, now I have to start all over again.

  1. That happened to me when I first started...

    what is that all about?

  2. I would communicate with Yahoo if I were you. Look at your e-mails also. Maybe they sent you a e-mail about it.

  3. write to yahoo about it.  they usually rectify a situation within a couple of days.

  4. Sometimes if someone doesn't like you and they have all their friends gang up on your ID and report it or block it, then I think YA is run by machines set on numbers and sometimes just so many reports or blocks and they kick you off, right or wrong. And they don't change their minds either (because machines don't have minds, even when they sign emails).

Anyway welcome to the club. They like to suspend people who have good records in level 6 or level 7 and even people who are top answerers. I think they kick off people at that level who are not YA employee trolls so that they can keep their employee trolls as top answerers (even when some of them are insulting, esp in the VnV section where some of the top answerers are now non-vegetarians, who call vegetarians "vegers" and "liars"). YA employee trolls are apparently protected from being reported, because there are some accounts and questions where you try to report and it doesn't process the same as ordinary reports.

When you try to appeal, they will not say what you did wrong, only that you violated some rule of the TOS, but they never say which one...because that means THEY KNOW YOU DIDN'T VIOLATE ANY RULES, just they wanted to bump you off so a YA employee troll could replace you on the top answerer list. The emails are signed but by a machine with a fake name, I think. They say the reason is confidential, that is because they don't HAVE a valid reason for treating people unfairly.

Sorry for the long diatribe, I just don't like how they treat people.A lot of good answerers in the top answerer section have disappeared quickly in the VnV section of YA and replaced by unknowns from out of nowhere...some of them non-vegetarians.

  5. I just got a violation today on an answer that I know has to be more than a month old. I guess the person above me is right about YA having their own trolls..who go over our Q&As on a continuous basis. I think if they deleted my account like that..I'd be very upset. It's not easy to get all these points without making a mistake once in awhile. YA wouldn't mean the same to me anymore...because I wouldn't trust Yahoo again. We've put a lot of time and effort into our Q&As and that should count for a lot!It would mean that they didn't appreciate their  customers. And that's not good for business. I'm sorry that happened to you. I think you should keep trying to find out why they did it.

  6. that really sucks, if that happened to me I would be really disapointed.  It took a long time to accumulate the points I have.  Did you ask yahoo about it at all?  If you get an answer let us know cause that would really not be cool.

  7. From what I understand, if Yahoo is going to delete your account for violations they are supposed to give you a number of warnings. At least that is what they say. So if you didn't get any warnings, it was a glitch or something else. Go over to the forum (click on Forum in the upper right) and explain what happened. With luck you'll get a Y!A mod to respond and help straighten things out.  I'm sure you'll be whipping out those thumbs down to skeptics in no time. If you want, you can thumbs down me to get you started :)

  8. Ok, I figured it out, I am Katrina T or used to be. I checked my old email and left it signed in, apparently our yahoo answers account is directly linked to our email accounts. I tried to close this question out but I guess it's too soon it won't let me.

    Thanks for the help.

Don't worry Wushuboy, I hardly ever give you thumbs down, I give them to the mean-spirited skeptics.

  9. did you not use it for 3 months or something?

Why do you like to give thumbs down to skeptics?

Most of the skeptics are interested in uncovering the truth. The people who are not interested in getting to the truth of matters are generally those who live in a deep fantasy world of magic and make believe and don't want that world shattered.

They have that going 24/7 in the mythology section.

    This is science and math.
