No offence, but how did he manage at 7 to sneak out of bed at 1am and take his parent`s car for a spin.

I love the comment from the mother "We are sending him to relatives for a few days so we can clear our heads".

Priceless!!! Lol.

I would suggest that their heads are fairly empty from intelligent thought and responsible parenting, for this to have happened in the first place.

kids muck about do things behind mum and dads back. most times they don't get found out. or if they do nothing 2 bad happens

glad to hear the kid is ok he's gonna have a killer story to tell in years to come. if somebody is boasting about the daft things they did when young he'll be able to trump them everytime.

My son is 7yo, and as his mum I obviously think the sun shines out of his bum.

As much as I'd like to say his sole interests are Dr Who, Dinosaurs and tormenting his sister, the sad truth is is most favourite thing EVER is to poke dead things with sticks. Slugs. Birds. Mice he ain't fussy.

So I could say my son would NEVER do anything like that but I do wonder....

Joking aside it's a disgrace and I think it's a cover up. Even the tallest 7yo couldn't reach the pedals and steer.

If he is not allowed to drive the car and he did, he disobeyed.

If its against the law to drive at age 7, he disobeyed.

Direct disobedience in my home results in a spanking, not trips to relatives.

Children are taught in school, all about their rights, the child act that protects them from any form of corporal punishment, by teachers, by the police & far more worrying, by their Parents!

As smacking children is illegal, what actual deterrent is there for a determined naughty on a mission 7 year-old?

None.

No short sharp shock to knock some sense into them, means more wayward children with no limits, no control & no worries.

Doesn't he know that you're supposed to push the clutch down then put a small amount of pressure on the accellerator, slowly lift the clutch up to the bite point, check his mirrors and blind spot then lift the handbrake up and slowly raise the clutch till it moves off? That's why 7 year old's shouldn't drive cars.

Bad parents as usual, seriously at 7 I would never dream of doing this, even at 40 I would never dream of doing this. The kid needs discipline otherwise what the h**l will he be like at 15!!
