I know when somebody draws like a self portrait with the pencil?

and sometimes the cartoon exgerrated portrait. Do they make the person look better than what they are. Or just how they really sees the person.

I know a artist he always said I look like this specific celebrity I never hear that b4 but now that Im on this celebrity lookalike website my photo keep coming up as that woman. Now nobody else's never said that but how come that artist saw that so long ago. I kinda see it now.

so do artist draw ppl better than how they look or how they see them.

  1. Depends on the artist, you'd have to ask 'em yourself.  


  2. It's how we see them, of course we try to capture the "real look", but I'm sure we try to soften hard edges, or other things to give a "better" look to the person. Just look at Rockwell's portrait of Nixon, and you will see a nice looking rendition of Nixon. An artists eye is always softer than a hard unfeeling camera lens.
