  1. YOu don't have to put his name on the certificate but to get childsupport he would then need to take a paternity test first.

  2. Hi, i am also a single mom....the different with the two of us is that, i get along with his dad, and i let his name appear in his birth certificate...

if u decide not to include his name in the birth certificate, i  can understand you...and do that if it is your decision. and also, if ever you dont like any support from him and that you dont like your baby to know his father, ecxcluding his name will be better...But if you wish to ask his support, you will be forced to include his name so that you can demand that support from him legally...Take care of yourself and your baby....Welcome to motherhood...God bless

  3. if you don't want him to have a part and he doesn't want to have a part then just don't tell them. they can't force you and they aren't going to go out and test every guy to find him. there is really nothing they can do. just tell them you don't know or say that you'd rather not say. that will be the end of it. they asked me if i wanted to go after child support. i said no and that was the end of it. I live with my sons father that is why i didn't go after support but they don't know that. however if you do that then you will not be able to get child support but if he doesn't want to be a part and you don't want him to be then I wouldn't go after support anyways.

  4. yea at the hospital they will ask you for the father and just say u dont want to put that information but yea if u want child support they will put his name. he can also change his mind and take u to court for it to have his name put on but of course you will have to go thru the DNA testing

  5. U dont have to put the fathers name on the certificate. My fiance's baby's mother didnt, but when she put him up for child support, he was suppose to put the kid on his insurance, but couldnt bc 1) name wasnt on birth certificate and 2)different last name

  6. The father does NOT have to be on the birth certificate...and if he is not there then they usually either won't put i ton there or they will just put his info on it and he won't sign it. But no he does not have to be on the birth certificate if you don't want him to be

  7. Isn't his name on the marriage license?
