like instead of paypal and all that, just putting shipping and handling and the price of the item in an envelope-hard cash, and having them mail you the item?

  1. No way!! Don't do it! That's a quick way to lose your money since the seller can deny they ever got the money and you would have no way of proving them wrong.

Just pay with Paypal it's easier and keeps a record

  2. I am a seller on ebay, and YES, I have received cash in the mail for items.  Of course this is not a good idea, but some people are trustworthy enough, and I, as the seller did ship their item.  But sometimes you just never know who you are dealing with.  This is why Paypal is an excellent service and protects both the buyer and seller.

    Thanks for reading!

  3. That's a *very* bad idea.

If you don't want to use Paypal for some reason, at least send a check or a money order, not cash!

  4. I would never do this, mainly because you have no way of knowing the cash got there and because you have no way of knowing the seller is actually going to send your item.
