I know you think you are a good photographer...are you really?

Some days I'm passable.  Other days ... not so much.

And every once in a while I get it to all come together and do something that's really good!

The key - as an old pro once told me - is "just don't show anybody your bad ones!"

I'm a hobbyist who knows a little and sometimes gets by with that.  There is always something that I wish I did better.

I know I'm not the greatest yet but I'm pretty good and I am majoring in photography in college. I have already taken 2 years of photography in high school.

As far as formal portraiture, which I do for a living, I feel confident that I am good. When I get the camera in my hands as a hobbyist I am always striving to learn more, to expand my style and I would say I am far less sure of my abilities.

Chance favours the prepared mind. When I get lucky, I like to think that I'm prepared. Sometimes, I am. When I'm not, I follow the good advice given previously: don't show your bad ones.

I try not to judge my work anymore.  I just learn every time I snap a shutter what to do more the next time.  I let my clients tell me if I am good or not by whether they book me or refer me to others.

I'm...  Well, I'm not bad, but I don't know if I'd really go so far as to call myself good.  I mean, whenever I print, I tend to go rather hard on myself...  Sometimes the words "Talentless Hack" are thought...  Then again, it should be fairly clear that I am sort of a pent-up ball of neurosis.
