  1. It's getting a lot better than it was just a few years ago. My wife had lasik done about 8 years ago by a guy named Glenn Kaewesch here in San Diego. This guy basically ran a lasik mill, where he wouldn't turn any patients down and would do at least a half dozen treatments a day. My wife's vision was dramatically improved the next couple days. But, over the next few months, her vision began deteriorating rapidly. She went back and got her eyes redone. And today, her vision is basically where it was prior to having the treatment.

A few friends of mine also had it done back then. And, they all  complained about the halo effect they see around bright objects at night (like streetlights).

Lately, I've been hearing about people getting lasik and not having those kinds of problems. Like any technology, it gets better over time. And, I believe they pretty much have the process nailed down to a science. If you're considering getting it done, go in for a consultation. They're usually free with no obligation. And try different places to get multiple opinions.

Take your time and get as much info as you can before making such an important decision about your eyesight.

  2. It is something that you will need to touch up every ten years or so and it does not correct close up vision. But if you are a good canidate for it, it is very worth it. My husband had it done and he is so happy with the results. He can see 20/15 in both eyes now! There weren't any complications and he was in and out in no time. Go talk to a doctor about it and see if it's something for you :)

  3. Its safer than s*x, and no, there is no rule that says your vision will get worse, but common sense tells us that as we get older our eyes get worse.
