I laugh at my own jokes.(because they're funny) Does that mean I'm socially undesirable?

I'm not one of those ppl that just goes up to someone and tells corny joke after joke. I just giggle when I tell a story.

There is laughing and there is cracking up.  If you just giggling when you say something funny and others are laughing also thats fine.  If your the only one laughing then you might want to find out if you are actually indeed funny.  You also don't want to laugh uncontrollably.  Just a little giggle when others are laughing is fine.

It means you're just my type! Just chillax girl.  Be yourself.  You don't have to conform to society and it's trends.  Be your own person.  And for the record, many people do that.

no if its funny laugh. ur not going to cry when ur telling a funny joke. thats what makes me laugh at a funny joke is the person giggling telling it

Actually I always figure the main idea of the rule is you are laughing so the others don't know what is funny. If you burst out laughing in mid-story then how do I know what the funny part is. Sure YOU know because you were there, but I DON'T know. So now I have to wait for you to stop laughing to finish this story that you are trying to say is funny. I find that annoying. Now if you are talking to friends who know the story well enough then burst out laughing and they are laughing with you there is nothing wrong with that.

I do too, and apparently people get pissed at me for it. It's like, why would I be telling the story if I didn't think it was funny myself?

no. if they're funny they're funny.  sometimes i laugh at what i say, and my friends laugh at they're jokes all the time.  if its funny, laugh!

It's a LOT more satisfying to master joke-telling as well as memorizing funny jokes.

You know you've mastered the telling of jokes when you can keep a totally straight face while everyone around you is howling with laughter.

I don't really mind hanging out with folks that laugh at their own jokes. It's just when their jokes are totally not funny (very lame, profane, crude, obscene, etc.) and they keep laughing for a long time that it gets annoying.

yes, because YOU are judging that they are funny.. Life is not supposed to come with a laugh track...if u say something (that YOU think is funny), you gotta sort of shut up and  let the crowd react on thier own.  otherwise, they'll just laugh cause you laughed, cause they don't want u to feel bad.  No one wants to hang out with an id iot that laughs at their own jokes.

No.  I laugh at my own jokes, too.  Why should I find someone else's jokes funny, but not my own.  That's like putting more stock in their actions and not enough in my own.
