Question:

I layed a concrete patio in my back yard Friday. Should I spray it with a cure or not? If so when?

Also when should I pull off the forms? We had to pour it pretty wet. Also why do you use the cure on top of it?

  1. you can spray it with a sealer/cure right after you finish it...or you can keep it damp for a week or so and pretty much accomplish the same thing...hope you didnt pour it too wet...


  2. no, it cures over years anyway.  it is hard enough to walk on

  3. I've pulled forms within hours of pouring but you do have to be careful.  The concrete is pretty soft.  Then keep is damp if you can - longer the better.  The chemistry goes on working as concrete hardens - like forever.  So let it work good those first few days.  

    Not sure what you mean by "cure" - you mean some sort of stone glaze - some product to coat the concrete?  I've seen that stuff for sale, but I've talked to a lot of concrete guys who never use it - they say it's worthless.
