  1. Eat fast. If you're a slow eater your gonna go hungry.

  2. good luck, and thank you for stepping  up!

  3. Good luck man!!!

  4. Get on line as you should have for a while...

study customs and courtesies of the Corps, rank structure

Hopefully you have gotten into somewhat reasonable physical conditioning.

    Think before you speak.

Your decisions & actions affect the lives of those around you.

NEVER WHINE even when you KNOW that the DIs can't hear you.

Learn & Remember how to fold the clothing right - I still fold mine the same 3x3 after 30 years (drives my wife crazy).

Be PROUD of the Marines and look forward to the day that we can call you MARINE. Its one of the things that makes us one up on the other services, Pride and being able to back it up.

    Semper Fi...

  5. Don't take the personal interest serious. They are gonna try to break you down mentally as long as you realize you ain't %^&* before you get there you won't be to upset.

  6. Don't be a smart ***. Keep your mouth shut. Don't vollenteer for any thing.D.I. question, who likes sports? Me sir; Here son dribble this mop around this barracks for a few hours. A rifle is not a gun. D.I. pointing to a rifle. this is a rifle, then pointing to his groin area, this is a gun.I got to circle the barrack shouting with a rifle over my head, This is a rifle this is a gun , one is for fighting, one is for fun. lesson: keep your mouth shut.

  7. Getting sleep now won't do any good!  You won't be getting much sleep as it is!  Advice?  Don't take anything with you except the clothes on your back and addresses if you want mail.  Don't bother getting an haircut, they shave you even if you are shaved!  Practice speaking in 3rd-Person, as a Recruit, you don't rate to speak to Marines as if you are a Marine too!  Good luck and welcome to the "Gun Club!"

Best branch of all the services, why you ask?  Because the birthplace of the Marines was in a bar!  Oorah!   "Drink up recruit!"

Full Metal Jacket depicts the 'real' life image of Boot Camp in the 1960s!!!  p**s poor realization of today's!  Watch the "Ears Open, Eyes Click!"  that is the today's version!  Full Metal Jacket is a classic movie however, Semper Fi Gunny Ermy!

  8. Don't ask your DI any questions unless you absolutely have to. Don't do anything too well, and don't do anything too poorly during the first two weeks.

  9. get plenty of sleep now....

  10. 1.  Understand that there will be times that your DIs will be asking you to do things that seem insane.  Don't worry about it; sometimes it will make sense later...sometimes it won't.

    2.  Tell your family and friends not to send you anything that will bring attention to you (for instance, a box of cookies for your birthday).

    3.  Listen to your PMI (the guy who will teach you to fire your M16-A2).  Follow their guidance...nothing turns a DI on more than a Marine who can kick *** on the firing line.

    4.  Don't get your Eagle, Globe, and Anchor tattoo until after boot camp.

    5.  Don't give up; don't whine; and show leadership whenever possible.

    Good luck, recruit.

  11. I would just watch the movie full metal jacket. It really depicts the life style you will have in boot camp.

Remember anyone can make it as long as they stick in there.
