The Brazilian defender has called for Inter Milan fans to understand the circumstances in which he was forced to leave San Siro much earlier than he had planned.
Lucio has answered the criticism of Inter Milan fans following his decision to leave the club for a move to Juventus, and has stressed that the decision to leave San Siro was not voluntary.
The Brazilian recently rescinded his contract with the Milan outfit that still had a couple of years left, and was quickly scooped-up by the rivals Bianconeri in a bosman transfer.
The veteran defender gave some controversial statements in his presentation to the Old Lady fans, siding with the Turing giants’ claim of having won 30 Scudetti.
The statements did not sit well with the Nerazzurri authorities and the fans, with Massimo Moratti recently suggesting that the speech was but a hokum.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lucio-c22597 turned to twitter to plead his innocence, stating that he was forced by internal issues at Inter Milan to leave the club much earlier than he had anticipated.
The Juventus-man called for his fans to understand that leaving the Milan outfit was not his own decision, and stressed that footballers have to make such decisions in their career.
In his tweets, the 34-year-old said:
“I say to all the Inter fans who follow me that I hope they understand my choice. I have to leave http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 for internal issues. Life must continue, however, this is the life of a footballer.”
Lucio was adamant that he will always cherish the memories of his journey with Inter Milan, and stressed that the UEFA Champions League win under Jose Mourinho will remain a special moment for him in his entire life.
However, the Brazilian international stated that his future is with Juventus now, and stressed that he is happy to start a new chapter in his life with another great club.
“I’m still proud to have been part of a team that won the Champions League after 45 years, now I’ll be at Juve and the same as how I wore the Inter shirt for three years. I’m happy with this new phase of my life.” He added.
