  1. Phone your insurance company and they will let you know.

    you should be covered.

  2. yes you sould be fine. car insurance ask for where the car will be kept most of the time , they are aware that there can be one offs. if they decline the cover log a complaint with them and chase it op with the FSA

  3. Entirely down to the insurers.  Of course, they couldn't expect the car to be at your home 24/7, but they might not look at it in the same way as if, for instance, it happened at a council-run car park with CCTV.

Read the small print before you call them, and be ready with convincing (but basically truthful) answers.

  4. it should still be covered. phone them up to find out.

  5. Aw babe!

Id maybe phone the the insurance company and keep telling them that you didnt want to drink drive which is why you did it, they may understand. Kind of depends on what type of insurance you have and by who

  6. you wont have any problem. just explain to them why it wasnt parked overnight at the usual address. i work in insurance and have seen this many times before

  7. Where it was parked will not matter to the insurers, as long as you used normal common sense precautions. After all, it could have been "done" while parked in the town centre in broad daylight while you were shopping.  They're only interested in where it is "normally" kept, they don't insist that you only park there.  Your decision to leave it parked because you were going for a drink is eminently sensible.

They will be looking closely at your claim, inevitably, as there is a lot of fraud involving this sort of thing.

  8. Your insurance is still valid. Insurers are aware that in any one year there are going to be a lot of times when you are not at home - holidays for example. However, do not expect a cheque in the post next week!  Insurers look at burn outs with a very jaundiced eye because so many are done by the cars owners! They will want to exhaustively investigate your claim before they pay out.
