Here in Texas ,  if it was your friends fault  Liability only covers the other person's vehicle. Thats all liability does is to cover the other person's vehicle.The owner must have insures on there car.

Well, if you want him to pay, you'll have to sue him in court.   Getting the judgement doesn't mean you'll end up getting any MONEY out of him.

You're probably going to end up paying for this car yourself.  But that's ok, because if it was YOU who wrecked the car, you'd still be paying yourself.

Your insuance would cover any damage he did excluding the car up to policy limits. As for the car HE should get you anther one. You should  be able to sue him for the damages to the car.

If any damage was done to the others car or property, your insurance will pay.  You will have to pay to have your car repaired.  If your friend is a friend, he will pay on your behalf

You pay -- never let anyone drive your car.   If your car gets wrecked--you should have the privilege of the drama...Now you have to buy another car and your friend is not your friend.anymore.....
