  1. Yes. A lot of mummies were murdered, so have fun!

  2. I'm not sure how whatever university you go to works, but at my university you major in Anthropology, take classes in all four subdisciplines (sociocultural, physical/biological, archaeological, and linguistics) and then take a few electives in the subdiscipline of your choice.

Sidenote..: (Bones is a good show ;) By the way, Crossing Jordan is a good forensics show.. but not specifically Forensic Anthropology, though one of the main characters in the last season was a Forensic Anthroplogist ;) I highly recommend it if you have a general interest in forensics...)

Those three are DEFINITELY interconnected. You'll want to probably focus on physical and archaeological Anthropology if you are given the option. Forensic Anthropology is a subdiscipline of Physical Anthropology. Egyptology is sort of a subdiscipline of Archaeology. I don't think you have to give up any of your interests. You can become an Forensic Anthropologist and Egyptologist (you specialize more in grad school). It really fits together well. As someone else mentioned, you can study some mummies if you go in that direction.

    Good luck.

  3. Archaeology now does uses a lot of forensic like technologies to peice together the past. Very rarely does an Archaelogist come across an object that is "complete" it could be a peice of a jaw and part of the left eye socket.

They have to then recreate the skull as it would have looked whole. Thats where the forensics comes in. As far as where to dig, thats all up to you. Feel free to study primarily in Egyptology and delve into the greek culture. Nothing will hinder that ability.

It's a great feild to take on, I'm taking college courses for Archaeology right now. I've always had an intrigue for it.

    Take care.
