i did my first year at city college and now im going to do my second year at city college too but i visited baruch before my first year of college and i didnt like the environment and the area i dont like the idea of one building here and another one in the other corner i like the campus of city the majors of city college doesnt convince me im so undecided about my major i want to do communications and something related to art and designs and stuff like that even in high school i took classes of graphic designs and i was part of the yearbook staff and i also took alot of pics but im scared that if a major in one of those i wont get a solid job like a job that will guarantee gains like medicine. doctors always find jobs. my mom wants me to be a doctor but im not going to study none of that just because she wants me to do it. i was planning to study biology to see if i like something related to medicine because i like biology but not... do i still dont know wat to do

  1. It sounds like you are a very confused young lady. I think that your parents are right. You should focus on a career that will pay off in the future. I started college at the age of 37. I got married at a young age with two kids involved, I had no jobs skills other than a unit secretary job at a hospital that paid a little of nothing. The marriage went bad, so now I am stuck with two kids to raise and no funds. If I would have listened to my parents I would have went to nursing school and became a R.N. or maybe furthered my education to anesthesiologist-Tech. making nice money. You have to start some where. If your not sure about the medical field, you should try volunteering or apply for nursing school just to see if you are comfortable in that field. You sound like you are young, you can always take classes for art and design as a Hobbie or even on the weekends and both of your desires will be full-filled. Most people I know go through several careers before they reach the age of 50. be smart (think future) I had a set back for a little while, because I chose marriage over a career. I hope you choose wisely. Choose a college that is comfortable for you. You will definetly function better.
