  1. It's unusual, but I quite like it. I usually prefer more traditional names, my children are Sophie, Matthew and Daniel. I think the important thing to remember when choosing names for your baby is that they have got it for the rest of their life. Will they get picked on at school because it's unusual? Will they constantly have to spell it for people? Also does it go with their surname and middle name if they have one and what will their initials be? I know someone who's baby's initials were C.O.K.... they didn't think about it until after they named the baby. It is a nice name though :)

  9. Is it (Ka Tare Ah) or (Ka Teer Ah)? For me, Tear has two ways of saying it. Both ways sound wonderful but (Ka Tare Ah) sounds more beautiful.

  14. Who cares what yahoo answers people have to say

Just choose a name wisely, it will be theirs the rest of their life.

PS if you choose a really uncommon name, it will get really annoying when people compliment it 100 times per day.

  15. Katera reminds me of the biblical name Keturah, and Katara from the television show 'Avatar: The Last Airbender'. I don't think that the name is weird at all. It sounds similar to established names, has the same rhythm as popular names (e.g. Sierra), and has a traditionally feminine sound. I actually like the sound of the name... and the spelling that you've chosen for it is nice. It's not a struggle for me to figure out the pronunciation.

  16. I wouldn't ever call a name "weird," so...original. I like the spelling of the name. Also, the pronunciation is just okay - I'm not very keen on it, to be perfectly honest. The only thing is, you can almost guarantee that people would pronounce the name 'kah-TEH-rah,' or at least, I think it looks a bit Greek, so I would. I hope I assisted you in some way. :]

  17. it's okay =]

    not too unusual

  18. Personally I like it because I have a pretty name but every girl seems to have it [Madison] - hey, even some BOYS have it!! Anyway, yes, I like it.

  19. I don't like it, it sounds made up. I'm more into classic, English names.

  26. It seems odd to me, but perhaps that's just because of where I live.  What origins does this name have?

If it's made-up, then I would much prefer Kiera or Thea, both of which are similar.

  27. I like that name its unique but i dont think its weird. You might have to tell people how to pronouce it at first they might say Kate + ra

  28. its an original and beautiful name.

  31. It's not a particular favorite of mine, but it's not weird either.
