You must be a British citizen in order to become part of the UK Army.

All members of the British Commonwealth may join the British Army.  Go to the British Army website recruiting section and search for "Commonwealth."  The site explains how a member of the Commonwealth may apply.  South Africa now has one of the largest contingents in the British military at over 880.
