  1. When I was involved in my first ever musical, my knees shaked, I felt sick, pretty much what you're going through. I then personally decided that I was offered this part, so why should I be aafraid I admit it takes guts and pperseverance but once you believe in yourself you'll be flying sky 9 level. You can do it. Why don't you start with school choirs and go from there, that's were I started from and now I lead a section in an orchestra. If you want to do it so bad, follow your heart and not your nerves.

  2. oh my gosh!i have the EXACT same problem!im terrified in front of people that i dont know.i can hit really high and occasionally really low notes.but singing is my passion and i try really hard to follow my heart.whenever your singing in front of people just think of someone REALLY special(like a crush) that has always helped me.sometimes even throw in a little passion, like maybe a tear or two(think of something sad). NEVER listen to people who say you cant sing! EVER!and...always use the restroom before performing:P

    GOOD LUCK!

  3. The Stage is your bathroom so do not worry just sing.

  4. I have three sisters, and they used to force me to sing with them -- I seemed to be the only one who ever got stage fright. But since they didn't relent, I had to sing in front of people again and again, until eventually it got a lot easier. Now it's fun to do. I wasn't singing solo, though, so you might have a harder time, but experience is the answer I think.

  5. dont worry about what the audience will think. although easier said than done. its a vicious circle really.

you feel nervous about what they think, so you hold back and seem timid and afraid.

the audience picks up on this and thinks your performance is not so good...

    thus solidifying your fears.

but if you just enjoy yourself, know that you are singing to your best abilities and enjoy the feeling of entertaining others with your gift to sing, the energy flow between you and the audience will be positive.

  6. Oh, God!! I'm sooo stage fright girl, and I'm also a singer. It took me FOREVER to get on stage, but my problem was worse. I always Peed my pants when I even almost stepped on the stage! Yikes.. it sucked big time, but I usually just said over and over in my head "you'll be fine, don't worry its okay" and I always stayed really really still and let myself just be nervous. Then, right when it's your time to shine, it all kind of goes away. It was like I got out all my nerves right before walking out, so I was good when I was actually ON stage. And I always did better if I was nervous. One time, I wasn't nervous, and I completely screwed up. Not to say you would, but I mean, i guess it helps to have some nerves ;)
