I painted my tiny half bathroom orange and I feel it too bright. What can I go to soften it other than repaint? ( any washing technique?)

  1. Check with your local home improvement store.  There are so many things you can do with paint these days!  You might be able to paint some sort of faux finish over the orange to tone it down.  Otherwise, you might want to paint three of the four walls a neutral color and just keep one accent wall orange.

    Good luck!

  2. Try getting some glaze from the paint store and some white paint.  You can mix this any where from equal parts paint & glaze to a lot of glaze and a little paint.  This depends on how much you want to "lighten" the orange.  If you can, take a board and experiment a little before you start on the walls.

Then you can roll on the mixture for an even coverage, sponge it on for a dappled effect or even rag it on for a more streaky effect.

Glazes come in a variety of types too!  Anything from nearly flat to pearly and anything in between.
