  1. over charing can damage battery life

Better to drain battery, then fully charge, and so on...

  2. yes its fin to have it pluged in all the time, mine hardly leaves the charger and it works fine and still has a long battury life

  3. It probably has a lithium battery in it, so the concerns about discharging it fully (as would be the case with NiCd) do not apply.

It would not hurt to keep it charged, but that won't improve the battery life.  With normal use, a lithium battery loses capacity in a set number of years, regardless of whether it is kept charged, left discharged, or something in-between.

My only concern for keeping the player plugged into my laptop or desktop would be theft, if that's a concern where you work.  If the player was on my belt or in my pocket, it would leave with me when I went to lunch.

  4. If it's supposed to charge via USB then yes, once it is fully charged having it plugged in will stop the battery level from dropping as you use it.

  5. yes this is fine. in fact this is probably the best thing to do so that your mp3 will never run out of power and you will never have to live without music when you want music. I believe that it is not good to drain the power completely because for some mp3s if you do this you may lose some power next time you use it. Draining COMPLETELY is bad, not keeping it plugged in.

  6. I have a Microsoft Zune and I do that. As far as I know its fine.
