You could also try nurseries like Bordine's, Weigan's, Telly's, etc., although it is probably a little late in the season.

There are a number of places that will hire you at 16, most fast food places and restraunts, and grocery stores  hire baggers at 16. Here are some tips no matter where you apply, always take your own pen to fill out an application and fill it out while you are there.  Dress neatly because you always want to ask for an interview when you hand in your app.  After you have your interveiw follow up in person, that way your prospective employer knows you are serious about the job.  I was a hiring manager at a fast food place for a while before i decided to stay at home with my kids and those are some of the things that influenced my decision when i selected employees.  One more thing remember to smile and make eye contact and say please and thank you.  Hope this helps, good luck on the job search.

When I was 16, I applied at the local school district's credit union.  They gave me a job counting lunch money from the various schools.
