  1. MY GRANDMA HAD HIBISCUS AND BOUGENVELIA.  SHE LIVED ABOUT 2 MILES FROM THE PACIFIC OCEAN.  THEY SEEMED TO DO TOO WELL.

  2. Tamarisk flourishes in these conditions, It can be either evergreen or deciduous shrubs and has very pretty pink flowers.

  3. You can find a host of plants that flourish in your seacoastal climate on the web ... but I do recall that Rosa Rugosa roses are among those that do.

  4. You can help protect your plants when they are young with plastic windbreak netting and by planting windbreaks of plants such as evergreen oak, hawthorn, willow etc. Shrubs that tolerate salt winds/spray are, hebe's, escallonias, firethorns and snowberries. It may be handy to nip down your local garden centre, see what they are selling and ask. Dory, above, has come up with another good one.

  5. Hedging plants:

    Eleagnus  x ebbingei 10-15 foot

Crataegus monogyna (common or European Hawthorn)

I have to look through my books and its late.  Maybe if you put in your address bar 'seaside plants' you may get a load of sites come up that will advise you, and you'll be able to look at the pictures of them too.

I'm sure there are many plants that you can plant in your salt laden garden.......and I thought I had problems....lol
