I have completed prop. 36 classes. I am not supposed to get of probation until 2010 but at my last court date I was told by my public defender that since I have had no violations, I will be let of probation at my next court date, scheduled for this month. I have approx $2000 in fines still to pay. Will the courts let me off with an outstanding probation balance?

  1. usually not. Fines and restitution are part of the process.

  2. NO!

    You have to pay.

  3. I've worked in that field and typically people must pay the fines before being released from probation.
