I live in Canada and I would really love to help out with Hurricane Katrina.?

I have seen the devistaion caused by the hurricane and would like to know how to voluntieer my time for the summer to rebuild houses for those who lost everything. I also would like to take my 6 year old son with me.

    Many churches have programs that are dedicated to building as well. Of course the Red Cross has been involved, but I'm not too crazy about them because of their misappropriation of funds. Whatever you do, please make sure you are with a group and don't let your son wander. Parts are just shanty-town and pretty shady. Not the safest place to be (my mother just moved down there and there have been several "incidents").
