I live in Chelsea, NYC and I am looking for somewhere to get a haircut?

I have a barber that I go to but I am looking for somewhere that can help me choose a new HAIRSTYLE for me. My barber really isn't much help and I think that I should get a hairstylist to help me. However, I don't know which one I should go to. I want to go to some place where they know what they are doing.

I just want to get a new hairstyle, something fresh! I have had the same haircut for like forever.

I go to Astor Place haircutters: male and female customers.

That is, if you don't mind a funky place that has been around a long time, try Astor Place Haircutters.

AstorPlace Haircutters is on Astor place just off Broadway in the Village  the street is just one block long, one block South of 8th Street.  As you cross Broadway, you should see the building.  It's visible, walk down the metal stairs.  Tell the person at the desk what you want done to your hair.

Next door to the ice cream store and Barnes & Noble, if they  re still there.

Take the Broadway Bus going downtown. Walk down the metal stairs to the shop.  

Call Astor Place to make sure they are open the day you want an appointment.  My haircutter is:  Ishmael.  He's good and fast.  They also have female haircutters.

Tell the person at the desk  what you want regarding a new hairstyle.
