I live in Columbus,Texas. I have a small black bird witha brown head....what kind is it??? Larger than a sparrow or wren but not big like a regular black bird.

Sounds like a cowbird to me too.  I hate those d**n things....

They lay eggs in other birds nests for THEM to raise, and that often means that the proper chicks of the nest get pushed out because they're smaller.
