I live in Edmonton, Alberta. Where can I go thats within a reasonable drive time for the August long weekend?

I like nature, camping, hiking etc and I would be really excited to find out about some new spots in the Rockies that won't be like a stomped on ant hill this weekend.

head south on Hwy#2 to Red Deer and then take Hwy#11 west across the Siffleur wilderness (not sure spelt right) by Rocky Mountain House to the the Columbia Icefields.  Thats an amazing drive and very little used.    Lake Abraham as you approach from the east is a jaw-dropper.

Head north on Hwy#11 to Jasper and back to Edmonton.

But i always like going to Sylvan Lake only like an hour- an hour 1/2 and you can swim go on hikes and theres nature all around there!
