daughter to make money by having her sing on the street corner she is about 8 or so. Is this ethical or do you think he believes she'll get discovered and is helping her live out a dream?

It is technically illegal actually.  I also find it ethically despicable.

i see this sort of thing all the time. he could be using her for the money but some parents use this as a way to boost confidence and practice their instruments or voices.. in the end theres no way to tell.

it's not right. But it's just what he's gotta do for money. If there were anything very wrong with it, social services would get involved.
