I live in Long Island, NY i have a Q about guns?

i live in long island , NY and i know that i can but a shootgun if im 18 or older from wall-mart...im 20 so i want to get a cheap 12 guage for like $ 180 - 250 dollars but hers the thing where can i go and shoot it?

here is a link to a bunch of shooting ranges in long island.  however you may have to call them or find more info about them because i dont know if they will let you shoot a shotgun. they probably will, but just to be 100% sure.
