I am fine generally speaking. I do not have a criminal record, I do not owe anything but things under 500 dollars and a few parking tickets. I plan to pay them but I do not yet have money to do so. These jobs are not especially technical, or hard or responsible for anything big. It's office and phone work. So far no one has hired me. I was the type of person who worked for private companies. Even this has made some feel uncomfortable. I have paperwork to show. Taxes were taken out. I applied for a job today they asked for my Driver Lic because they wanted to check. What is going on? Is there a such thing as too many background inquiries? If I were to refuse this they would feel I had something t hide. I want to do the right thing but I am feeling a little invaded.

  1. They have to verify that you are a legal citizen, that you are of legal working age, have identity (that you are who you say you are). Not a big deal, they just are complying with labor laws.
