I live in Louisiana if I buy a boat (and the trailer) used from Florida, what taxes have to be paid and where?

Another side of this that I was wondering is what would taxes have to be paid on? The boat, the trailer, or the motor? Or all three. I know it changes

  1. You'll pay taxes to Louisiana when you register it.


  2. If it is a business you are buying from, they collect the sales tax, you present your bill of sale when registering the boat and trailer with the DMV

    A private sale, meaning you buy from the owner you then pay the sales tax at the DMV.
