Question:

I live in MD, considered dependent, I pay my own way for everything, how can I get aid for college?

I work a part time job right now at my local airport, I buy all my own things. Clothes, gas, food, car, insurance...you name it I pay it, my parnets don't help me. I want to continue to go to college this fall any ideas on how I can get some type of finanical aid without using my parents income?.....they make tooo much :((

  1. Fastweb.com is great for scholarships.

    Go to your financial aid office and find out when they offer academic scholarships.

    If you filled out the FAFSA, major in a math or science with at least a 3.0 GPA you do qualify for the SMART grant (Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent) which is pretty sweet.


  2. If you are 24, a veteran, married, or have children, the n you be independent.

    Otherwise, you are dependent regardless if you buy everything.

    Its unfair. I know.

    Me and my wife make 30K and we do not qualify
