Question:

I live in NY and just made my final car payment. How long will it take to get the title from the lien-holder?

The lender is Provident Bank. I know that in CA, the lien-holder is required by law to send out the title within 10 days of receipt of the last payment. Does anyone know if NY has a similar law?

  2. not sure about NY law,  but in Illinois, it is usually about 4-6 weeks.

  3. I havnt heard of a law in NY, it usually seems to take my customers around 4 weeks before they get the title, I work at a ford dealer near buffalo.
