I live on Long Island in Suffolk County, NY. I will be moving to Texas for a Teaching job. I have the choice of three areas Houston, Dallas, or San Antonio and am unsure which area to choose. All three are much cheaper to live then where I am now. I would like the area that offers the most like safety, attractions, shopping, dinning, & events. Some place fun and exciting to start a career and a family.

  1. my friend moved from Texas to NY and back to Austin, Tx.

I think you'd like it best in Austin.

Houston, ew. That place sucks. Austin has everything. and you can dress nice, Cause I know NY people are fashionable. Houston, most of it is nasty. Dallas - half nasty half people who think their sh*T doesn't stink.

    I say Austin.

it's nicest. Beautiful area. Nice lakes.. Downtown is great.

nice places to shop. good jobs. lots of schools for you to work at.

  2. I live in Gainesville, TX. My husband and I went to Galveston for the wk end. It is beautiful down there, people are friendly it was a 45 min drive from Houston to Galveston. Houston it self is nice and clean. Lots to do there. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houston,_Te...

San Antonio is big but floods a lot. The river walk is beautiful and your about 2 and a half hours away from Corpus Christi.

Maybe one of these links may help you decide. Just to let you know summers in TX's usually last through Sep- Oct and they are hot. So come prepared. Good luck.

  3. I'm sixteen now, but I was born and lived in San Antonio until I was ten.

It was okay. And I've lived in the Dallas area since then, and I really like it here.

There is a lot of opportunity and different things too do for fun.

  4. Believe me, you want San Antonio! Very close to Austin, and only a few hours from Houston.  Best place for a family.

  5. San Antonio is the best

  6. Houston . . . just voted best city to live in in United States.
