  1. Hello.  There are no trains that go from new City to Hawthorne, as there is no rail bridge across the Hudson River.  However, if you drive to Nanuet, on Route 59 and the New York State Thruway, there is a bus stop.  Take the bus that says New York Trailways on the side.  That bus goes to White Plains....taking about 25 minutes.  Once it drops you off at White Plains (Trans Center), walk into the train station, which is right there, and buy a Metro North ticket to Hawthorne.  Then, hop on any train going to Southeast (northbound), and you should be in Hawthorne in about 12-15 minutes.  In essence, your trip will take about 45 minutes altogether at the shortest, depending on whether there is traffic, and when the next northbound train is.  As for the cost, I am not sure what the cost of the bus ticket is...maybe about $5.00 to $10.00 or so, and the train ticket is going to cost $2.25 one way.  I hope this has been helpful for you.  Good luck with your travels.
