  1. Inland and away from the coast

  2. Best is to leave the area that might feel the effects of the storm.  For example, Little Rock and Memphis are both far enough from the coast that they might not even get rain from Gustav.

You will need to go at least 300 miles and probably 400 miles to find hotel rooms - especially rooms at normal rates.

    Good luck!

  3. When my son lived in New Orleans, during a hurricane, he went to Mississippi. He has very good timing and left 4 days before Katrina to move to Idaho. At that time, he lived in Harrahan which did not flood too bad.

  4. Come to the Baton Rouge metro area; If you know family up here. Either way it goes, you guys have to evacuate today or tomorrow. Every hotel is booked; So what are you going to do?

  5. North Carolina is very nice this time of year.  Get a cabin in a National Park.

  6. memphis is very accomadating to you people displaced by storms.

riverside park marina rents boats & house on mckeller lake @ decent rates. a real good time! reply if u need phone #

  7. Mobile, I live here

  8. I love memphis its only a 6 hour drive if you leave in the middle of the night traffic wont be bad. good luck , just leave.
