I live in OR, I found a used car in CA, private party, do I have to pay CA sales tax, no tax in OR?

I just don't want to find out later that I have to, in Oregon, there's no tax, and in CA, you pay when you register the car

no tax. I lived in Grants pass for ever and use to import a few cars a year. Never had to pay the tax.

This isnt a car on craigslist is it?  Seller paying shipping, using an escrow service (Yahoo Autos, ebay)?  Selling car well below market value?  

If any of that is familiar - run away - its a scam.

when i have out of state customers they always have to pay tax where they register the vehicle, not where they bought it.
