  1. 10 cats is a lot to take in for a no-kill rescue. Try splitting them up. 2 at one place, 3 at another, etc.

You can also try to rehome these cats yourself via Craigslist.

  2. Ohio is a very high kill state so pretty much any shelter their is going to be full at any given time..

I would try posting them frequently on Craigslist for your area. Don't forget to include photos and great descriptions! A local shelter may be able to help you if they have extra food donations so that you can at least feed them while you try to find a home for them.

Do not give them away free! Charge at least twice as much as stores charge for a feeder rat or your cats may end up as snake food. I have a coworker that keeps snakes and he goes around picking up as many free ad pets as he can to feed to his snakes. He's fed them everything from ferrets to puppies and kittens. Just charging a fee though will eliminate a lot of that..

  3. go to www.fluffynet.com for assistance.  They have a list of no-kill shelters you may not have  thought about.

  4. You are really in a bind but perhaps this will help. If the cats are spayed or neutered, this will help.

Advertise in your local paper, at vet offices and pet stores. Take pictures of each cat with a few words about desirable traits that each cat has. Also, ask your relatives, neighbors and friends if they are interested and ask them to spread the word. Make sure each cat goes to a good home. Even if you cannot afford to feed them anymore, you need to make sure that they are all going to good households. Good luck.

  5. I live in Ohio too and had the same issue recently. The cleveland shelter was the only one that had any openings but they wanted me to pay to have the kittens taken in because I do not live in that county. You could try calling them. I took pictures and made posters to hand out and email, I got rid of all of them. Best of Luck!

  6. It's so sad.  The no kill shelters fill up with cats because they can't place them fast enough.  You might have to consider taking a couple to a shelter hoping that a least a few places will become available for some of them later.
